A recent job posting on LinkedIn suggests that Microsoft may be trying to make a Horizon Zero Dawn type game. This will be welcome news for those who have been patiently waiting for an Xbox One Exclusive. Here is the image in question which shows Sandor Roberts mentioning the open position for a Next-Gen AAA Microsoft title
Since the recruiter is a third party and is based in UK the speculation is that the devs behind the project are either from Rare , or Playground Games , who back in February also stated that they were trying to set up a new team that would work on non gaming projects. The studio is most known for its work on the Forza series, and were the studio behind the incredible success of Forza Horizon 3.
The job posting is two months old so its highly likely that we might just get a teaser trailer or something else at this years Gamescom. What’s makes this interesting is the fact that just like Guerrilla Games did with Horizon Zero Dawn , Playground will be setting foot in a new genre of game development , and only time will tell whether they can pull it off. There is also the possibility that Playground might not be the studio behind this rumored title and some other studio is helming the project.
Secondly Phil Spencer recently stated that they had signed deals for projects that were 2-3 years away , and hence it will be interesting to see what Microsoft has in store for us , and if Xbox One fans will finally get exclusives that they have been hoping to get for quite some time.
