The sales chart for UK’s top 10 has come out for the week that ends on 10th December and you will be surprised to know that the highly talked about and the highly anticipating game has failed to even come in the top 5. Yes, we’re talking about The Last Guardian.
As per the sales monitor Chart-Track, the game exclusive for PlayStation 4 scored to be in the seventh position on the week of its debut. Contrarily, we should consider the fact that the game wasn’t released until December 9th in the UK i.e. towards the end of the week when the top 10 was to come out.
The only new entry of the week is Dead Rising 4; it has defeated The Last Guardian and sits currently at number 5. Meanwhile, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare has claimed its position back from EA’s FIFA 17 which has dropped down to Number 2. Another one from EA has remained consistent with respect to strong sales performance at Number 3 and it is Battlefield 1; it sits calmly above Square Enix’s Final Fantasy XV.
The opening performance of The Last Guardian can be considered displeasing, by keeping in mind the forerunner, Shadow of the Colossus, which had its own top spot in the opening week back in 2006. However, it is to be considered that Team Ico only had 2 days to calculate sales and that digital sales are eliminated from the calculation.
