Last month  The Last Guardian was launched and received a lot of optimistic feedback from those that played the game. After its release, fans have been thinking and speculating on what is the next step that the development team is going to take. The director of the game, Fumito Ueda had enlightened the fans by telling them that he is considering releasing the Shadow Of Colossus to Virtual Reality although he doubts some things about the technology.

Shadow Of the Colossus was a popular game that was released back in 2005 by SCE Japan (Team ICO) for the PlayStation 2

Speaking to  Glixel, he said that releasing Shadow Of Colossus to PSVR will mean that he will have to meet and exceed projections of its fans. Here’s what he said;

“If I were to release Shadow Of The Colossus for PSVR, I would feel a responsibility to create something that goes beyond the expectations of the fan base. It wouldn’t be enough to just make a game where you’re standing at the feet of a colossus.”

To this he added that a major issue regarding VR is kinetosis and he is unsure whether it would be a good or bad idea to bring Shadow Of Colossus to VR. He said that he is not very confident that the team is going to find a way out of this issue. Here’s what he added to the above statement;

“I don’t have the confidence that we’d be able to overcome that problem. Another problem with VR is that the market is not too big yet. On one side, as a creative medium, I’m interested in creating something for VR, but I also have the responsibility to make sure that it makes business sense for us to take on the project. So, in that sense, I haven’t found the right balance or realistic solution to make it happen.”
