Cyberpunk 2077 is set to be the latest action RPG from developers CD Projekt RED , however we have had no concrete details about the game’s story and game play details despite it being in production for a number of years now. The devs most recently said that Cyberpunk 2077 has the potential to be a bigger hit than The Witcher 3 . However this next piece of information courtesy of NeoGAF user Boskee is a tad bit surprising to say the very least.
Before commencing however treat this as a rumor and nothing more, as this comes from an unspecified and for a lack of a better word unrecognized source. According to Boskee all development on Cyberpunk 2077 prior to 2016 has been scrapped. Here is what Boskee said regarding the matter.
“The Game Director for Cyberpunk 2077 has changed after RED has finished Blood and Wine (screenshot below), and according to my sources – please treat it as a rumor, as I won’t reveal anything more – the preproduction done on the game before 2016 has been binned.”
To prove his point he also attached an image which you can also view down below.
It stands to reason that the new game director may have not liked the direction that the game might have been going and may have decided to implement some new ideas that would make Cyberpunk 2077 stand out from other steampunk games. It also makes sense as CDPR has high hopes for Cyberpunk 2077 and as they have shown in the past that they will take their time in making a complete masterpiece .
At this point of course this is mere speculation , and it would be interesting to see if this rumored blip may affect the final outcome of Cyberpunk 2077 whenever it is released.
