Preacher is an American TV series developed by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin for AMC. It is based on the hit comic book series, the story is of a conflicted preacher, Jesse Custer, in a small Texas town who is occupied by a mysterious entity which lets him develop a highly unusual power. Tulip and Cassidy, with his fearless sidekicks begin on a wild and dark journey which is not similar to any other.
In June 2016, it was reported that the first season of Preacher is up for pre-order at the Amazon website (); in DVD and high-definition Blu-ray Disc. When the pre-order was up, Amazon did not have a release date nor a package art but now updates have been made with October 4th to be the release date and box art as well. Official announcements from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment are yet to be made regarding the press release for the title, however, last week an IGN report stated that the DVD and Blu-Ray Disc sets would be in 3 discs and will include 10 episodes along with the following extras:
- Deleted and Extended scenes
- “The Unfilmable Pilot” featurette (following the years-long process of making an adaptation of the notoriously graphic original comic)
- “The Stunts of Preacher” featurette
- Gag Reel (Blu-ray only)
- “Chainsaw Fight Breakdown” featurette (Blu-ray only)
- “Behind the Killing Machine: Saint of Killers” featurette (Blu-ray only)
- UltraViolet Digital Copy (Blu-ray only)
AMC has officially authorized a 13-episode second outing to come one year from now. For now thought wait for the DVD/Blue Ray release on October 17
