The PlayStation 4 is one of the most dominating consoles of all time, with perhaps only the PS2 standing in it’s way as the best console of all time. With some extremely amazing exclusives, the sales for the console have reached to the top of the leader board. It has came to light, according to statistics, that every one out of two games in the UK is a PS4 title which is a big accomplishment in terms of physical software sales!
UKIE and Gfk Chart-Track state the PlayStation 4 has 50.2% of all physical software sales in the UK region and the Xbox One comes second at 31.6%. With amazing exclusives in it’s library such as Persona 5, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Horizon: Zero Dawn there isn’t any doubt that Sony is winning a large margin.
Sony has been known to nag these type of numbers in the past too with the original PlayStation console netting a 47.9% share of all physical sales for it.
Every major PS4 exclusive that was released this year got top time for atleast a week in the UK according to analysts. Horizon: Zero Dawn, Persona 5, WipeOut: Omega Collection, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and Gran Turismo: Sport spent at least one week on top of the sales charts in the UK.
The PS4 has also been killing it in the console sales department with it selling out 70 million units just this year! The past week has resulted in it selling over half a million units which is pretty big deal and we’re sure that the numbers are only going to go up as time goes by.
With the holidays coming up, the sales are expected to skyrocket again. This factor combined with the list of highly anticipated exclusives (God of War, Last of Us Part 2) coming up in 2018 will result in a lot of sales for Sony’s current-gen console.
