So E3 is around 4 months away, and recently we learned that Microsoft have announced that the Xbox E3 press briefing will take place on Sunday, June 11 at 2 p.m. PT/5 p.m. ET at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
In a tweet from the Xbox twitter account they simply stated “Brace for big news.”
There has been a lot of speculation that this will be the stage where Project Scorpio’s release date will finally be announced, and even the teaser image suggests that the company will be announcing the release of the Scorpio.
Previously, Microsoft has usually held its press conference’s on Monday Morning of E3 and this has been the trend for the past several years. However this time around they broke tradition, and it has prompted fans to ask the reason for the sudden change.
One fan took to Twitter to ask Phil Spencer why was Xbox given it’s own day. Here is how the conversation went
I'm confident in what we'll show. Going later in the day on Sunday will be a nice change, sorry Europe viewers for the late hour.
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3)
So it appears that the Xbox supremo indeed has something grand planned for us fans, and he seems pretty confident that the fans will like what they will see. Fingers crossed everyone.
He also answered a fan query regarding if we could see more PC games coming to the Xbox One. He said there will be more opportunities if they make it easier they make it for developers to target both Windows and Xbox platforms. Here is how the conversation went.
I do (Astroneer, Fallout Shelter, Ark etc) The easier we make it for devs to target Win + Xbox == more opportunity for them
— Phil Spencer (@XboxP3)
I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Xbox Scorpio’s E3 announcement, and I sincerely hope that Microsoft knock this one out of the park, because right now Xbox could seriously use a win. If Phil’s confidence is anything to go back I believe that the Scorpio will indeed be the talk of the town come E3 2017.
