Marvel’s Daredevil spinoff ‘The Punisher’ welcomes two new actors to the cast to fill in key roles for the series.
First, Ebon Moss-Bachrach (who played Marnie’s hapless love interest, the musician Desi, on HBO’s Girls) will feature as Micro – a former NSA analyst “whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) and everyone around them.” In the comics, Micro (or Microchip) worked as a tech and weapon expert for Castle, though the character turned into a villain in the later issues. Joining Ebon is Amber Rose Revah (Son of God), who will play the character of Dinah Madani on the show. Dina is a “highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by The Punisher.”
The Punisher aka Frank Castle was brought onto Daredevil season 2 earlier this year and was a prominent character during the entire season. The character was critically acclaimed and gained acceptance and a massive fan following globally which eventually led to the order of its spin-off series on Netflix. Steve Lightfoot (Hannibal) will be serving as show runner and Jim Chory and Jeph Loeb (Daredevil,Jessica Jones, Luke Cage) as executive producers.
Marvel’s The Punisher will be the sixth Marvel series adapted by Netflix as part of a collaboration between them and Marvel Television. More details pertaining to the show are yet to be revealed, we can only wait for official announcements for now. What do you think about the recent casting? Are you looking forward to the show?
