The Red Dead Redemption series is all set to get a sequel and it is fair to say that the entire gaming community is excited by the prospect. The gun slinging adventure that was Red Dead Redemption was critically acclaimed, and is amongst the most renowned franchises developed by Rockstar games.
Now it appears as if the original game (Red Dead Redemption) will be getting a remastered somewhere around 2017. That is according to Korean website Gamefocus which says that the popular 2010 game will be getting a remastered version which will be available on Xbox One, and PS4 sometime around 2017. The lack of PlayStation backwards compatibility means that this might be the only chance that PS fans may have on playing the game on PS4. While Xbox One fans may have already gotten their hands on both Red Dead Redemption and the DLC Undead Nightmare as they were both optimized for the Xbox one in June of this year.
In an era where many fans remain divided for a remastered of an original game it remains to be seen that whether the fans will welcome the remastered version of Red Dead Redemption with open arms. The recent release of Skyrim remastered can be seen as a success and yet there were some who were reluctant to pay full price for a game that they had played already. The general feeling is that publishers are “milking” money out of the fans every chance that they get. It is hence an interesting proposition that a remastered might be making its way to your consoles soon , considering that the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 might be on the horizon.
