Preacher Season 2 More In Line With The Comics

Comic book fans rejoice Preacher Season 2 is headed our way on 25th June. The comics of Preacher were darker than the conventional comics and took twisted childhoods to a whole other level. After successfully executing the first season of Preacher, executive producer, Sam Catlin aims to offer something even better to the fans.

So the first season as we all know was just an introduction to the Preacher character. The season offered a prequel to the comics and was something that the diehard comic book fans were not accustomed with. Now, season 2 of Preacher aims to delve into the comic book story lines with the aim of offering something familiar to the fans.

In season 1 we saw the introduction of Jesse (Dominic Cooper), his girlfriend Tulip (Ruth Negga) and Cassidy (Joseph Gilgun). The second season is expected to expand into the story lines of these characters offering fans to explore more into these characters.

Sam Catlin in a recent interview to Moviefone mentioned that after the first season they wanted to bring more to the table. He mentioned that  “There are certain things that we realized that only our show could get away with. So we tried to do more of that, in terms of the violence, and the comedy, and the perversity, and stuff like that.” In addition he also indicated that this time around he wanted the comic book fans to be able to resonate more easily with the TV show by bringing it closer to the comics.

He regarding the issue said that “From the start, Season 2 is going to skew a little closer to what the comic book is.” He added that We want to do is we always want to make “Preacher” feel like “Preacher,” and we delve a little deeper into some of these, what look like little pit stops on the road in the comic book become whole episodes, or several episodes, or stuff like that.”
