It seems that HMV plans to offer a significant discount to Titanfall 2 during this year’s Black Friday, just a few weeks following its release. In-store promotional material suggests that Titanfall 2 on Xbox One will fall to £19.99, that’s a pretty decent discount of around 50%.
HMV is yet to respond to the leaked offer refusing to confirm the exact price of any impending drop. There would have been very little probability of such a price reduction before Christmas a few weeks ago. Despite Titanfall 2 being considered one of 2016’s hit games Respawn Entertainment’s mech shooter hasn’t managed to meet sales expectations, even though it has received several plaudits since release and also garnered mainly positive reviews.
Titanfall 2 was released one week after EA’s Battlefield 1 and many people believe that the close proximity between the release of the two shooters may be the reason for Titanfall 2’s lackluster sales. EA hasn’t been too concerned with the lack of sales with the company previously stating “It’s Not About First Day or First Week Sales”. The company also said it has a long-term vision for Titanfall 2.
The game is currently available on as a PC download for £24.99. The purchase provides a code for Origin, EA’s delivery service. Other versions of the game on PC (boxed), Xbox One, and PlayStation 4, have stayed at around £40.
