The next big magical adventure from the author of Harry Potter series, J. K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Although the first film has not yet been released but the director, David Yates, is already making big plans for the sequel.
In an interview with Screen Rant, Yates gave the confirmation that the famous headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Professor Albus Dumbledore, will be joining the cast of the second film of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Since we all know that Fantastic Beasts is a series of five films that is set couple of decades preceding Harry Potter’s birth, thus, fans have speculated that a younger Dumbledore is to be seen. Yates did announce that some speculations were correct but not all. He says,
“In the second movie Dumbledore comes back, he’s got a couple of good scenes with Newt… We’re discussing who would play Dumbledore, any suggestions would be good.”
It is, however, on the obvious side that Dumbledore will not be played by Michael Gambon and hence, a younger version of the wizard will be appearing on screen next to Newt Scamander. Even though, this is going to mark Dumbledore’s debut in these series, it is not the first time his name has come up. As per Entertainment Weekly, Yates said that Dumbledore will be a topic of discussion in the first film but that is all. Another wizard who will be mentioned is Grindelwald, the evil wizard.
The first of the five planned films – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them hits cinemas on November 17th, 2016.
