Castlevania will be finally be made into a TV series but there is not much else known about it. Netflix has only made an announcement in an event which was held today for the official list of forthcoming programming slate. Here is what the press release said about the new show:
Castlevania Season 1, Part 1 Coming to Netflix in 2017
We are presuming that later this year, we are going to get the option to watch the Belmont family fighting the bloodsuckers in Castlevania. But sadly this is all that we know is official for now but perhaps the project is the same one as the one reported by Frederator Networks (Adventure Time) to be in development. Adi Shankar is the probable producer for it and he was behind the Power Rangers series back in 2015.
In an episode of the Nick Animation podcast in the end of the previous year, Seibert did say that Frederator was mounting up on an unnamed video game project. The words as per Slashfilm were as follows:
“We have a project right now that we’re doing that needs to go unnamed, based on one of the most world-famous video games of the last 30 years that we’ve had in our shop for 12 years without being able to get it started. But there were great characters and a great story, and eventually we got it going.”
Adi Shankar did say something about Castlevania about a year ago and he also mentioned that he was working with Seibert. Here is what he updated on Facebook recently:

Castlevania is a Netflix Original Series with Season 1 launching in 2017 and Season 2 in 2018. Furthermore, I personally guarantee that it will end the streak and be the western world’s first good video game adaptation.

The show is a collaboration between Shankar and Seibert. According to sources, Warren Ellis reported that he has done the writing for the first season of this show. I guess we just have to wait until official details actually come out to be completely sure about the updates of Castlevania.
