Nintendo State That They Will Not Discount The Switch For Holidays

If you were hoping to pick up a discounted Nintendo Switch on the holidays, you’re not going to be able to get it since Nintendo stated that they will be not be discounting their latest hybrid console for the holiday season this year. People usually wait for Black Friday to pick up consoles in cheap prices but the Switch will not have any this holiday season as all focus would be on having enough units at retailers to meet quota.

“We are not discounting the Switch…. We’re focusing on making sure we have robust supply at retail.” This is what Fils-Aimé, President Nintendo America, had to say about it to the Washington Post.

Switch supply issue has been a big problem for Nintendo ever since it first released back in march, demand has been through the roof while the company has failed to provide the required supply for it to be met.

“We actually sold through almost 2.8 million units, so we dramatically over delivered. And yet, demand outpaces supply. So what do some of the consumers on Reddit say? ‘Gosh, Nintendo, if you would’ve made more you would’ve sold more.’ Well, we did make more! And certainly we’re on a pace to supply in the current fiscal year 10 million units.”, Fils-Aimé stated this back in september of the current year when asked about the situation regarding supply and demand.

The NPD report for the month of October of this year reported that  Switch outsold both it’s competitors the PS4 and the Xbox One two months in a row! Nintendo has been doing really well of late and it’s hardware the Nintendo Switch and it’s software have been performing admirably.

Quite a turn around if you ask me for a company that was once believed to be headed out of the console market altogether.
