Xbox One Will Get 25 Exclusives Between Now And 2018, Xbox One X To Sell Upwards Of 20 Million- DFC

Much has been made about Xbox One X being the most powerful console around town , and a new report from DFC suggests that the console will sell upwards of 20 Million units come 2022. The report also forecasts that by 2021 the console will sell approximately 17 Million units , and that would bring the Xbox One family to a cumulative of more than 60 Million units sold.

By comparison the PS4 family already stands at above a cumulative 60 Million units sold , and it will be interesting to see how it stacks up against Xbox One in the coming years.

On to the exclusives side and it appears that according to DFC Intelligence between now and 2018, 130 titles are expected to be released of which 25 are supposed to be exclusives. However most of them are also going to be released on PC. Its interesting to note however that the Xbox One X is designed to cater for a specific demographic , which want high quality graphics without having to pay for an expensive PC.

However most of the titles are supposedly from Indie devs and are unlikely to impact hardware sales. It also makes sense that most titles will be Indie in nature .With Aaron Greenberg recently commenting in an interview that Microsoft had learned from their mistakes and would not jump the gun when it comes to announcing games, however they did have a number of AAA titles up their sleeves which will be ready in 2-3 years time.

“It’s a fine balance of how much do you show early. I can tell you that there are a lot of other projects happening for Xbox, with a lot of big titles that we’re not talking about today.”

Although a lot of third party games will be playable on the Xbox One X it might take till 2018 for a number of exclusives to head to the Xbox ecosystem. However in the meanwhile we do have the likes of Forza, Cuphead, Crackdown 3, Sea Of Thieves and State Of Decay 2 to look forward to.
