The creative director of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy and many more Naughty Dog titles, Shaun Escayg, just uploaded a picture of the Avengers logo on his instagram. Shaun left Naughty Dog recently and joined Square Enix where he now might be working on the brand new Avengers game which has a teaser trailer in the works.

News about a possible Avengers game has around ever since Marvel Entertainment signed a deal with Square Enix that would allow them to make games about Marvel Superheroes. There will many games with the Marvel Superheroes in mind, and the Avengers project is the first of them.

Square Enix themselves haven’t officially announced whether Shaun Escayg will work as a Creative Director for the game but his instagram post might have been a confirmation. We’re sure to get an official announcement soon too though if this is the case.

Another rumor that is surrounding the game is that Eidos Montreal, the team behind Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, is working on the development of the game. We don’t have any legitimate proof surrounding this (or the involvement of Shaun Escayg in the game) so it is still not confirmed as of yet.

Marvel games, however low in number they’ve been, haven’t had any success in the past. The games received poor reactions when they were first released (Iron Man, Thor and Captain America) and that is why any further sequels or spin offs weren’t considered at all. But this might be a fresh new take on the subject all together, as Square Enix and Eidos Montreal might be the answer to reviving good Superhero games.

With the imminent release of the third movie in the Avengers series (Infinity War), it is the perfect time for the announcement of a brand new Avengers game. With two major studios working on it along with the involvement of Shaun Escayg (notable for the Uncharted series), this might be one for the ages.

Stay tuned for more!
