One of the most highly anticipated games of 2018 has to be Red Dead Redemption 2, the sequel to Rockstar’s stellar wild west open-world adventure. The game still hasn’t gotten an official release date apart from the fact that it’s coming somewhere in 2018, but it will probably come out sometime in the first half of the year.
CoolShop, a Danish retailer, has listed Red Dead Redemption 2 on their website with a release date of June 6th 2018 for both the PS4 and the Xbox One. This is the same website that correctly predicted the initial release date for Grand Theft Auto V (PS4 and Xbox One versions) before it was confirmed so there might be some truth in this listing. However at this point of time it is probably a safe bet to assume that this is nothing but a placeholder.
The game was originally supposed to come out this year but it was delayed by Rockstar, and scheduled to be here sometime in 2018. Below is the statement Rockstar released regarding the delay:
“Red Dead Redemption 2 is now set to launch Spring 2018 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This outlaw epic set across the vast and unforgiving American heartland will be the first Rockstar game created from the ground up for the latest generation of console hardware, and some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.
We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready.”
Regardless of the rumor being true or not, we can definitely expect it to roll out sometime around the middle of the year. The PC port will arrive a while after the PS4 and Xbox One versions come out. If you’re excited for Red Dead Redemption 2 then let us know in the comments section below and stay tuned!
