Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most highly anticipated games of 2018 and despite being delayed a number of times , the excitement is still at a fever pitch for the sequel to one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time.

However it seems that the fans wait will have to continue as Red Dead Redemption will now be coming out in October 2018.To be more precise Red Dead Redemption 2 is releasing on 26th October 2018.

Originally Rockstar announced that the game was delayed until Spring 2018 , but this new information means that we will have to wait patiently for the Western Spaghetti classic. In a recent post here is what the developers had to say

Dear All,

We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish.

We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks.

With thanks,
Rockstar Games

There were also a number of screenshots that were released as well. You can see them down in the gallery below.

While the delay may be disappointing for many fans , myself included it is perhaps important to remember that developers need an adequate amount of time before they finalize any game.

The alternative is to release a game which lacks a core gameplay or story element and just does not live up to expectations. Hence Rockstar can take as much time as it wants developing Red Dead Redemption 2 as long as the results are amazing.
