Insomniac has given us a number of amazing games over the years. Ratchet and Clank, Resistance and Sunset Overdrive are few of the gems that have come via the studio, but arguably none had such hype as it’s newest title in development Spiderman PS4.
The web swinger is back yet again , but this time exclusively for the PS4. It’s been a while since we have seen a Spiderman game and since the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been churning out successful superhero movies by the minute the excitement is bound to be of the charts.
However Spiderman PS4 is not going to be an origin story. which is probably the best way to go about things because the fans are by now tired of seeing the same origin story over and over again albeit through different mediums.The game will instead focus on Peter Parker who has a few years of crime fighting experience under his belt as the Spiderman. At some point he will also be joined by Miles Morales, who in the comic books is the second Spiderman after Peter. However it remains to be seen whether he will be a “significant” playable character.
It appears that Spiderman PS4’s release date is getting closer as Insomniac recently tweeted that a studio wide playtest was currently underway. Here is the tweet in question

Most recently Marvel’s Bill Roseman indicated that Insomniac is going to get all the freedom from Marvel and co to tell their own Spiderman story. It appears to be the right decision because Insomniac can then assume creative control of the entire storytelling process and give us the Spiderman game that we have been craving for years.
